Sandy is a sweet female Staffordshire Terrier mix, approximately 2 years old and weighing around 33 lbs. She was found as a stray in Saltillo, Mexico, and after a difficult rescue that involved hospitalization due to coagulation issues, she's now on her journey to find a loving forever home. Despite her challenging start, Sandy is incredibly grateful and will offer endless love and protection to her future family.
Ideal Home
Sandy would thrive in a home with families who have an open mind and understanding of the needs of rescued street animals, including their need for protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly recommended, as is a high level of patience and tolerance for rescued dogs. A fenced backyard and a commitment to providing her with regular exercise are also important for her well-being.
Ongoing Health
Sandy has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, a Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed. She also tested negative for heartworm and has a negative 4DX test certificate. She is currently on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are provided.
Training & Support
Sandy is not house-trained, which is a common challenge for many rescued animals due to the overwhelming number of pets in foster care. Her rescue organization focuses on their health and emotional rehabilitation, and while they cannot provide dedicated house-training for each animal, they offer guidance and support to adopters.
