Moxie Foxie Friend to All

Miss Moxie is what would happen if you mixed together sunshine, squeaky toys, belly rubs, and the worlds sweetest little goober into one absolutely adorable dog.

At around 5 years old, this lab/pittie mix is the definition of a family girl. She's playful, affectionate, goofy, and SO full of love. Moxie has this soft, sweet personality that makes people instantly fall for her. She's the kind of dog who looks at you like you personally hung the moon... and then immediately flops onto her back demanding tummy rubs as payment.

And let's be clear: this girl is a PROFESSIONAL at belly rubs.

Moxie does not casually ask for affection. No no. She performs full dramatic fainting spells directly onto her back with all four paws in the air like a little spotted fainting goat. Belly exposed. Tail wagging. Tiny hopeful face. She's basically saying, Excuse me, I would now like to schedule my spa appointment. And honestly? Nobody says no to her.

Her foster says she absolutely loves toys and will proudly carry squeaky toys around the house chomping and squeaking away like it's her full-time career. She has this happy goofy energy that makes her feel like a permanent cartoon character. Everything is exciting to her. Everything is fun. Everything deserves a happy little tail wag.

But if there is ONE thing Miss Moxie loves more than belly rubs and squeaky toys... it is DOGS.

This girl is a total social butterfly with other pups. During her assessment, she started out a little unsure and kept checking the gate, but the SECOND another dog came in, it was like somebody turned the lights on inside her little brain. Suddenly she was bouncing around, licking faces, inviting dogs to play, and having the absolute time of her life. Watching her around other dogs is genuinely so wholesome because she gets SO happy.

She especially loved running and wrestling with the other dogs, and she has a very playful, submissive style. She's the kind of dog who wants everybody to be friends. If another dog gets too pushy, shell politely say, Okay ma'am that's enough, but overall, she has wonderful dog manners and reads social cues beautifully. She even backed off immediately when a small dog corrected her for being too playful because Moxie is, above all else, a respectful queen.

She currently lives with a small elderly dog and has done wonderfully, and she also met another small dog during her assessment and did great. She's definitely a playful girl though, so tiny dog friends should be okay with a little goofy energy.

While she can be a solo dog, we truly think her dream life would include another playful dog buddy because she absolutely blossoms around other dogs. It's like her emotional support system is every dog I have ever met.

Moxie also lives with a toddler and a 4-month-old baby in her foster home and does amazing. She loves playing with the toddler and really just has the vibe of a classic happy family dog the kind that joins family walks, lays nearby during movie nights, and somehow always ends up directly in the middle of whatever everyone is doing.

She's also super smart and easy to live with. She's wonderful on leash, crate trained, treat motivated, and knows commands like sit and lay down. She would love a home with a yard where she can zoom around, play with her dog friends, and live her best goofy little life.

Cats are not her thing, so no kitties for Miss Moxie.

Moxie does have some skin allergies, which technically makes her a special needs girl, but she truly doesn't let it slow her down one bit. She just needs a limited ingredient diet and regular vet care to help keep her skin comfy and healthy. Think of it less like high maintenance and more like she's a delicate little princess who requires her special snacks.

Honestly, Moxie feels like the kind of dog people spend years looking for. Sweet, social, playful, cuddly, dog-friendly, family-friendly, and full of personality without being overwhelming. She's the perfect mix of silly and gentle.

She just wants a family to love, some dog friends to play with, a basket full of squeaky toys, and unlimited access to belly rubs forever.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travel safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!

The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting, DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2-acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dogs growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap-ranging from $100-$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
