Zoey

Zoey is a 6-year-old, 60-pound German Shepherd mix who is searching for her forever home. She's a sweet girl with a classic "sugar face" and a blend of energy and chill. She enjoys playing fetch and running around, but also knows how to relax. Zoey is smart, clever, and quick, with a personality that reminds us of a mix between a lab and a German Shepherd. She seems to have a love for water and has been seen enjoying a dip in any available pond! Zoey was originally adopted from Kitsap Humane Society three years ago and has been patiently waiting for her next chapter. Her current owner is moving due to health reasons, which has led to Zoey spending most of her day in a crate with limited time outside. She has lived with a cat in the past, but her recent confinement makes it hard to say how well she is integrated. Zoey is social with people and loves to be near her humans.

Ideal Home

Zoey would do best with an adopter experienced with large breeds or shepherd-type dogs. She would thrive with a bit of space and ideally a fenced yard. Apartments are not being considered for Zoey at this time.

Ongoing Health

Zoey is up-to-date on core vaccinations (Rabies and DPPV), has received preventative care, and has had a recent health check with a veterinarian. She is microchipped with lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Zoey is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic obedience commands such as sit, laydown, and kennel up. She is responding well to a training collar for leash walking, as she can be a strong puller. While not excessively vocal, she does have a loud, protective bark typical of her breed.
