About Ellie Sue

Ellie Sue is a super sweet, happy chihuahua who will steal your heart! While she's a gem, she's not for everyone, so please read carefully before applying to adopt.

Ellie Sue has a cataract that requires lifelong daily eye medication, which costs approximately $50 per month. She also needs to see an ophthalmologist. This is a non-negotiable requirement for her adoption.

Ellie Sue is also quite vocal and believes it's her job to announce everything – from the wind blowing to the excitement of other dogs playing, and especially when you leave. She expresses herself with obsessive barking, which is a part of her personality and won't change. If you're not prepared to accept this, she may not be the right fit. She does not respond well to negative reinforcement like water spray or punishment, and we want her to go to a home that understands and accepts her. If you ask her to quiet down, she will, but it will require constant attention.

If you've read this far and are still interested, Ellie Sue starts out a little shy but once she feels safe, she wants to be in your lap forever! She's not clingy, she just loves her person. If you aren't around, she would be happy to share a bed with another equally nice chihuahua or similar companion, especially on a cold day. She tends to prefer males and, like most chihuahuas, feels the cold. However, she is content to bask in the sunshine, even on a cooler day, and would love a nice yard to enjoy.

Ellie Sue is both pee pad and house-trained. She prefers going outside but appreciates having the option of a pee pad during inclement weather. She is fully vetted, including being spayed, vaccinated, having had a dental cleaning, and being microchipped.

Her adoption donation is $500.00. Ellie Sue is looking for a committed family who will love her through thick and thin, understanding that little dogs can live long lives.

Ideal Home

Ellie Sue needs a home that can accept her lifelong medical needs and her vocal nature. A yard for sunbathing would be wonderful.
