Meet Ponderosa, or "Pondsy" as we lovingly call him! This handsome fellow is an almost 2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix, weighing in at about 60 pounds of pure joy. Pondsy is a bundle of sunshine and goofiness, with a wagging tail and an endless supply of "goodest boy energy." His shiny black coat and warm brown eyes are sure to melt your heart, especially when he does his signature wiggle and flops over for belly rubs. He's a dog who thrives on adventure, whether it's hiking, walking, or even just a car ride, and he's always happiest when he's included. Pondsy is still very much a playful pup, full of curiosity and ready for fun, but he's also a champion snuggle bug once the day's adventures are done.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would do wonderfully in a home with a friendly, medium-energy female dog who enjoys playtime and wrestling. However, he would also be perfectly content as the sole canine companion, receiving all the attention. He is best suited for a home without cats and without small children, as they can be a bit overwhelming for him. Teenagers (13+) and adults are a great fit, and he forms deep bonds with his people. Apartment living is possible on the first floor if he receives ample exercise and mental stimulation, but a yard would be an extra bonus for him.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has undergone leg surgery and has completed physical therapy. While his back leg has a unique characteristic, it doesn't hinder his ability to run, play, and zoom around.
Training & Support
Pondsy is a happy and well-adjusted dog who is ready to find his forever family.
