Smokey is a handsome 2-year-old male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He currently weighs 60 pounds and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, all ready to find his forever family! Smokey has a low to moderate energy level. He enjoys playful romps with other dogs but also loves to snuggle on the couch. He's a quick learner, super smart, and has a very submissive and kind-hearted nature. Smokey is an affectionate boy who just wants love and attention, described as both "kind-hearted" and "affectionate." He's a total couch potato who's more than happy to hang out and relax with you all day, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a laid-back, easygoing dog. He’s ready to be part of a family and will happily curl up beside you, providing gentle companionship.
Ideal Home
Smokey would thrive in a home without cats. He would do best in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. Smokey would love a home with someone who works from home or is only away from the home for a few hours a day. He would also do really well in a home with a doggie companion as he loves playing with other dogs.

Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained and only does his business outside. He is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut inside. Smokey does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear anything up and eventually stops crying. He might bark out of excitement when meeting strangers but is easily redirected. He can pull slightly on the leash initially but settles in and walks calmly once the excitement wears off.

Transporation
Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible for transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.
