Vanna

Meet Vanna, an approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality! She's a playful, affectionate, and devoted companion who loves to be right by your side, earning her the nickname "velcro dog." Vanna is happiest when she's with her favorite humans, whether you're relaxing at home or embarking on a new adventure.

Ideal Home

Vanna would thrive in an active home where she can enjoy games of fetch and go on plenty of walks. She's a great car companion, making her perfect for outings. While she's been trusted to free roam and isn't destructive, her ideal home will also appreciate her desire to be close. She's best suited as the only dog in the home, though she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) who don't have resources to guard or compete over. She's not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash, so continued training will be important. Vanna does well with dog-savvy cats! She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.

Ongoing Health

Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. She has experienced significant trauma and is actively working through some challenges, including resource guarding of food, toys, and people.

Training & Support

Vanna needs continued support with leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents. She is crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Vanna has so much potential to grow and flourish.

Transportation

Vanna is located with her foster and is available for transport to approved adopters. Transports run every few weeks. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
