Meet Hershey, a delightful 3.5-year-old, 42-pound spayed female Pit Bull Terrier/Bulldog mix whose personality is as sweet as her name! Found wandering the streets of Houston, Hershey was rescued and is now thriving in a loving foster home, eagerly awaiting her forever family. She's a low-rider cuddle bug who adores her people, happiest when curled up next to you or following you around. Hershey bonds deeply and thrives in a home where she's a cherished part of daily life. She's housebroken, crate-trained, and a dream on the leash, enjoying calm walks and exploring the neighborhood. Hershey's confidence shines, and her charming little bark will let you know when someone's at the door! She loves playtime, especially in a yard for zoomies, but is generally mellow indoors. While she enjoys regular outdoor activity, a calm and secure environment is important during loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms.
Ideal Home
Hershey has had positive experiences with children and would do well in a home with respectful kids. She enjoys playing with other dogs, but her bouncy, enthusiastic play style might be best suited for a home as the only pet or with a calm, tolerant dog who doesn't mind her playful overtures. We have no history with cats, so a cat-free home or one with very slow, supervised introductions would be ideal. She's looking for a stable, loving environment where she can continue to feel safe and be a loyal companion.
Ongoing Health
Hershey is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Hershey is fully housebroken and crate-trained. She walks calmly on a leash and enjoys her outdoor explorations. She can be a bit spooked by loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms, so a secure and calm environment during these times would be beneficial.
