Akiro

Meet Akiro!

Akiro is a Pittie mix estimated to be around 6 years old. He first came to us as a stray and was later surrendered when his previous owner was no longer able to care for him. Now, he's looking for a loving forever home where he can start his next chapter. Akiro is a friendly, happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys spending time with his people. He loves heading out for walks where he can take in all the sights and smells, and squeaky toys are one of his favorite ways to play. Akiro is also a big fan of treats and is always happy to soak up attention from his human friends. He has a wonderful balance of independence and affection. He's content exploring his surroundings and entertaining himself, but he's just as happy to come back for pets and quality time with his people.

Ideal Home

He would do well with children ages 8 and older. No kitty friends for Akiro, please!

Ongoing Health

When Akiro arrived, he had a skin infection that is currently being treated under the care of our veterinarian with antibiotics and medicated baths. He's already on the road to feeling better and is excited to find the loving forever home he deserves!

Training & Support

Akiro did well meeting another shelter dog and has potential to live with another canine companion. A meet and greet with other dogs in the home would take place at the shelter to ensure it is a good match.

Transporation

Akiro is located at our Myerstown facility. He is available to head to his forever home through our foster-to-adopt program! Once his skin infection treatment is completed, the adoption process can be finalized!
