Taki

Taki is a distinguished 4-year-old Retriever mix who weighs 42 lbs. He came to us as a stray and has since proven himself to be a cool, calm, and nonchalant gentleman. Taki is happy to be wherever, whenever, and enjoys leisurely exploring outdoors. He's just as content napping and dreaming of his future forever home. He walks great on leash and already knows how to sit. Taki is good with other dogs, but he marches to the beat of his own drum and would do best with a canine companion who respects his independent nature and gives him space. He also loves a good bowtie, which perfectly matches his personality! Taki is our longest resident and has waited long enough for his special person.

Ideal Home

Taki would do best with a canine companion who respects his independent nature and is happy to give him space to relax. He is a tall boy and can jump a fence easily if left unattended in a yard. Adopters can have children.

Ongoing Health

Taki is heartworm positive. With proper treatment, he can live out the rest of his life happy and healthy. His adoption fee includes his treatment.

Training & Support

Taki already knows how to sit and walks well on a leash. He is described as independent and would do best with a dog that respects his space.

Transportation

Taki is currently in our care. Transport is available to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports. Due to import regulations, we are not able to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time.
