MEET STORMY! This six-year-old girl can be a real riot! But don't mistake that as meaning she isn't chill. She is a terrific house dog and so good with other animals! This gorgeous red head is lively, fun loving, young, smart, affectionate, a party gal, who also loves to snuggle, nap, and hang out with the family watching TV. Stormy is curious, a people lover, up for anything, eager to learn, and a cat and dog lover! It’s fun to watch Stormy when she runs, plays, rough and tumbles with her dog buddies, and then to see her instinctively know when to adjust her behavior to match an older dog or disabled dog, etc. She's just sweet as heck!
Stormy's rescue story is one of resilience. Our fearless director kept seeing Stormy running around a busy intersection in Shawnee, OK. One day she saw a man in the yard where the dog lived, so she pulled over to talk with him. When she told him his dog was going to get run over, he replied that she already had, several months ago. He hadn't been able to afford a vet for Stormy, who had been down and unable to walk for a while. At that point, other than her back leg not working right, she was doing better and had started running around again. Our director knew that good vet care would help her, and that she could get Stormy to a safe spot. The two agreed that Stormy would become a SPAR Dog!
Ideal Home
A family that appreciates her lively spirit and enjoys her snuggles. She is great with other animals and loves to play.
Ongoing Health
Stormy was hit by a car, which left her with a broken pelvis and a dislocated femur. The head of her right femur was outside of the hip socket. Her pelvis healed on its own, but she required $3000 surgery to repair her damaged femur. Dr. Streeter, an orthopedic surgeon in Oklahoma City, performed the surgery.

Stormy is eager to learn and up for anything. She is good with other dogs of all ages and abilities.
