This 3-year-old gentleman has learned the hard way that forever isn't always truly forever, but he refuses to give up hope! Apollo's previous family experienced an unfortunate incident where a door was left unsecured, leading to Apollo finding himself outside. Simultaneously, a neighbor's five large dogs were also off-leash, resulting in Apollo being attacked and sustaining several puncture wounds. Thankfully, he survived, but it was clear that home was not a safe environment for him. Now, this sweet boy is in search of a truly forever home.
Apollo is one of the sweetest dogs we've had the pleasure of caring for. He's incredibly chill and simply wants to be with his humans, enjoying cuddles. He loves spending time in the yard, and we're looking for a home with a physically fenced yard so he can explore all the fascinating scents to his heart's content. Apollo walks well on a leash and knows his basic commands. He's not a fan of thunder, but who can blame him?
His foster mom in AL describes him as a "big, sweet baby who just needs some love and understanding." Apollo is very curious and might playfully dash towards cats for a sniff, but he's obedient and stops when told. He clearly wants to be a good boy and be right by your side. While he's not a fan of thunder and may be a bit hesitant to eat during storms, he eats very well once he's comfortable and feels safe, showing he just needs time to adjust. Overall, he's a gentle giant and would make a wonderful companion! Watching Apollo's video will surely make you fall in love with this handsome honey-boy.
Apollo is believed to be a St. Bernard mix, possibly with some Newfoundland. He weighs about 85 lbs and is absolutely gorgeous with his beautiful black coat and white blaze on his chest. His paws even have white spots, as if he stepped in paint! He looks incredibly handsome in his red bandana – he's truly one of the coolest dogs ever!
