A little about them
Mister Sim Sim is a fluffy French Bulldog with a plush coat and a big, affectionate personality. He is playful, cuddly, adventurous, and loves people, car rides, boat rides, walks, treats, balls, and relaxing on a cool floor. He enjoys staying close to his humans and has been friendly with people of all ages.
Ideal Home
Mister Sim Sim would do best with someone familiar with bully or bulldog personalities and brachycephalic breeds. A home with or without dogs may be considered; resident dogs should be his size or larger, and introductions are important. He can be selective with dogs and may try to settle dogs when play becomes highly energetic. Cats and smaller animals are not recommended because of his prey drive. A fenced yard would be welcome.
Ongoing Health
- BOAS surgery was completed September 9 to open his nostrils and shorten his soft palate.
- One veterinarian reported a grade 1 heart murmur, while three subsequent veterinary opinions did not hear one. An EKG is planned for further evaluation.
- Because he is brachycephalic, he will need lifelong care around heat, exercise, and breathing concerns.
- His European microchip is present, but registration information is still being confirmed.
Training & Support
- House-trained and sleeps in his crate at night.
- Walks nicely on a harness, though he may fixate on distractions and can become tired after about 30 minutes.
- Currently participating in board, assessment, and training, with improved reactivity around dogs.
- Adoption includes neuter, deworming, flea and tick prevention, vaccinations, dental or additional surgical care if needed, a health exam, supplies, food, and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with immediate coverage for new, non-pre-existing illness or injury.
