Meet Blu!
Blu is a vibrant, approximately two-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix with a boundless energy perfectly matched by her big heart and beautiful brown brindle coat with white accents. She came to us when she followed a kind soul home from the grocery store and never looked back. Since then, she’s been spayed, vaccinated, and doted on with loving care. Living alongside two senior pups and a couple of confident cats, Blu has shown gentle patience and a genuine eagerness to belong. At 65 pounds, Blu is a large pup with a personality even bigger! She’s affectionate, incredibly smart, and motivated to please. Her favorite pastimes include fetch with her beloved soft frisbee, epic tug-o-war matches, chewing on yak cheese, and zooming around the yard like a joyful whirlwind! She also enjoys enrichment through supervised shredding of soft toys and cardboard strips, which has been a creative way to channel her natural need to rip and chew. She hasn’t chewed on anything off-limits in months. Blu knows an impressive list of commands including sit, wait, down, up, leave it, come, and more! She responds well to structure and loves training, especially when it comes with treats and praise.
Ideal Home
Blu does best with three walks a day, plenty of playtime, and enrichment activities to keep her mind engaged. A fenced yard is a big plus, as is a family who enjoys an active lifestyle and has time to include her in their daily routine.

Blu has been spayed and vaccinated.
Training & Support
Blu is still working through her sensitivity to passing cars and men in baseball caps, but she’s made steady progress with positive reinforcement. She is still a young dog and can get excitable, which usually results in jumping up on people and cobbing. Her caregivers have done a lot of work to help her manage these behaviors. She can also be destructive when under-stimulated, which makes regular mental and physical enrichment essential. Blu is crate-trained and house-trained, and has been comfortable being left alone for short periods.

Transportation
