About Heidi

Heidi and Chaplin, discarded hunting dogs, have endured a tough start, but their tails are wagging for a brighter future! After a lifetime of neglect, these sweethearts have received much-needed TLC and are ready to find their forever homes. They are a bonded pair and will be adopted together, looking forward to enjoying their golden years side-by-side. Their days are now filled with relaxation, naps, and all the affection they deserve.

Both pups are easy-going, gentle souls who enjoy exploring a fenced yard for sniffs and curling up for ample naps indoors. They are seeking a loving home that can offer a little extra understanding.

Ideal Home

A loving home that can offer patience and understanding.

Ongoing Health

Both Heidi and Chaplin experience some incontinence and are on medication. While they do have occasional accidents, with patience, routine, and management tools like frequent potty breaks and washable diapers, they live happy and comfortable lives. Chaplin has a permanent head tilt and slight gait unsteadiness, likely from untreated ear infections. A veterinarian has advised that with prompt treatment of future ear infections, this neurological issue should not progress. He also has scarring on his ears, which should be handled gently during weekly cleanings. His hearing may be slightly diminished, but his sense of smell remains excellent. Both Heidi and Chaplin are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

They do not jump on furniture and are well-behaved when left alone. Their foster home does not crate them. Chaplin can be a bit unsteady on stairs, so it's best to monitor his access, especially on non-carpeted stairs where grip can be challenging.
