Petey

Meet Petey, a charming 9-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs around 17 pounds. Despite being a little overweight, Petey is actively working on his fitness with regular exercise and a healthier diet, and he's already seeing great results! He's a former Pixie who returned to us when his beloved mama entered hospice care, and now he's ready to embark on his next adventure with a new loving family. This happy, gentle boy is brimming with love, joy, and personality, making him a truly special companion.

Ideal Home

Petey would do well in many environments, including an apartment. He loves spending time outdoors and enjoys a fully fenced yard for exploring and sniffing. Walks are a great way to bond with him, and he's a fantastic travel buddy, riding well in the car. He gets along with other dogs and is unfazed by cats. Petey would make a wonderful companion, especially for someone looking for a loyal, loving friend. He previously lived with another small dog, Buffy, and we'd be thrilled if they could be adopted together.

Ongoing Health

Petey is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm.

Training & Support

Petey is crate trained, though he prefers napping in his own cozy bed. He's making good progress with housetraining and will use potty pads when needed. He's also a good little watchdog and will alert you to anything interesting. We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption to ensure his safety.
