Meet Yancy!
Yancy is a smart, beautiful, and fun guy who is ready to learn. He's roughly 2 years old and weighs about 65lbs. Yancy loves training! He needs a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he's a total love. He enjoys the company of other dogs but needs a proper introduction. Yancy is a bit too excited around cats and would do best in a home without them. A calm, confident resident dog could help Yancy with his nervousness, as he's great at mimicking behavior. Yancy is nervous in cars but is learning and will follow a dog friend. He walks well on a leash and could be a great hiking buddy.
Yancy came to us undersocialized, and it took a lot of time and patience to get him to where he is today. We suspect moving to a new home will also take some work, but Yancy is so worth it! He's incredibly sweet and well-behaved. He is house-trained and can be left alone without destruction. He has a past taste for Crocs, so keep those put away! He lets out an occasional "wooo wooo!!" that is surprisingly loud but is otherwise pretty quiet. He enjoys running and playing but isn't overly active; snoozing is a favorite pastime. He's not a big digger and shows no interest in jumping fences or escaping. Don't let those husky genes scare you!
Ideal Home
Yancy would thrive in a home without children due to his nervousness and lack of experience with them. A calm, confident resident dog could be a great companion for him.
Ongoing Health
Yancy's adoption fee of $250 includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines, deworming and flea treatment.
Training & Support
Yancy is house-trained and can be left alone without destruction. He has a past habit of chewing on Crocs, so secure storage is recommended. He is learning to be more comfortable in cars.
