This big, happy goofball is about 10 months old and currently around 74 lbs. He's a German Shepherd / Great Pyrenees mix. Apollo is one of the sweetest and smartest young dogs you'll meet. He loves receiving hugs, soaking up all the pets, and hanging out with his people. He's a huge fan of running around outside, chasing balls, being chased around, solving food puzzles, and chewing on sticks he finds in the yard. He also adores snow and is comfortable with regular grooming. His current family is absolutely devastated to be looking for a new home for him, but they want what's best for Apollo – a family who will give him all the love, structure, exercise, and patience he deserves.
Ideal Home
Apollo would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and someone who works from home or can give him plenty of exercise and attention. He needs a cat-free home, as he gets too excited and plays too rough with them. He will do best with an active family ready for his size and energy.
Ongoing Health
Apollo had some digestive issues early on, which may have been a reaction to NexGard Plus. He is now doing great on Purina Sensitive Stomach food with added fiber and probiotics.
Training & Support
He knows commands like sit, down, wait, shake, and crate, and he's mat trained. He is working on his leash walking after some cold-weather regression and is still improving on "come." He can be high-energy and playful when it's time to play, but in the best way. He is crate trained and can stay in his crate for several hours when needed.

Transportation
All dogs are fostered in Texas and are transported twice a month. Transport is included in the adoption fee of $75.00, which is paid at pick-up.
Pickup Locations:
Missouri: Herculaneum (south of St. Louis) - Friday evening
Illinois: Collinsville (north of St. Louis), Springfield, Bloomington/Normal - Friday evening; Oglesby, Roscoe - Saturday morning
Wisconsin: Sun Prairie - Saturday late morning; Fond du Lac - Saturday early afternoon
