Sophia

Sophia is a sweet female Labrador Retriever mix who is looking for her forever home. She had a very rough start to life, having been rescued from an abusive situation where she was used solely for breeding. Neighbors were concerned for her well-being, and after her former owners were jailed on unrelated charges, Sophia was abandoned. She was rescued and received much-needed medical care, as she was malnourished and extremely fearful of humans.

With time, patience, and the help of other dogs in rescue, Sophia has slowly begun to trust and gain confidence. She is still a bit nervous when meeting new people but has never shown any aggression. Sophia does best when she has a canine companion to help guide her and make her feel secure.

Ideal Home

Sophia would thrive in a home where she can continue to build her confidence. A home with at least one other confident, friendly dog would be ideal for her.

Ongoing Health

Sophia has received extensive medical care and is now on the road to recovery.

Training & Support

Sophia is still a bit shy around new people. Her new family should continue to provide her with a safe and patient environment to help her adjust. Having a resident dog will be a great asset in helping her feel secure and learn how to navigate social situations.
