Wickett

Wicket is a sweet, gentle boy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is happiest with a canine friend by his side. He's still getting used to walks and all the sights and sounds outdoors, so loud noises can make him a little nervous. With patience, encouragement, and a consistent routine, his confidence grows every day.

Although Wicket was originally trained to use pee pads, he's doing an excellent job with house training and now much prefers going potty outside. Keeping him on a regular schedule has made all the difference, and he's proven himself to be a very smart boy.

Once Wicket feels safe, his affectionate side shines. He loves to snuggle with his people and will happily soak up all the cuddles you've got to offer. He's also learning to walk nicely on a leash and enjoys exploring at his own pace.

Wickett's soft coat is gray and white and currently sporting a new summer haircut. Between trips to the salon, he looks like a typical Shih Tzu and his future humans will need to have him groomed regularly.

Wicket came to IAR when his owner was no longer able to care for him due to their health issues. He is looking for a patient, loving home that will continue to help him build confidence and show the joys of being a cherished family member. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and heartworm negative.
