He's an estimated one-year-old, 51lb lab/pittie mix with a happy-go-lucky, people-loving personality. Wes wakes up ready to enjoy life and wants to share that joy with you. He's instantly lovable, leans into affection, and makes fast friends wherever he goes. Wes is wonderfully social with other dogs, friendly and playful in group settings. He'd thrive with another medium-energy dog to play with, but can also match a higher energy playmate. After playtime, he's happy to relax, showing a great balance of energy and downtime.
Ideal Home
Wes would do well in a home with a yard or an apartment, as long as his person enjoys getting out and about with him for hikes, patio hangs, and neighborhood strolls. He would absolutely shine as a go-everywhere, do-everything kind of dog. He'll do best with a dog-savvy cat who can set boundaries and ideally a home with another dog so he has an appropriate outlet for his playful side. Wes can get a little vocal, so apartment life is not ideal. A house with a yard is the dream!

Wes is still growing out of puppy enthusiasm on leash and can be a bit of a puller when he sees other dogs, which is pure excitement, not reactivity. He responds well to corrections and is very treat-motivated, so with consistency and treats, he will polish up nicely. Wes loves his food and takes treats gently with great manners, even around other dogs.

Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track their journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
