About Bear

Bear is a handsome 1-year-old German Shepherd mix, weighing in at a sturdy 60 lbs. He's a soulful, smart, and attentive boy with a sweet disposition. Bear's journey began when he was found abandoned on the side of a dirt road with his brother, Loki. He waited patiently for weeks until he was rescued and is now thriving in foster care, gaining weight and receiving much-needed medical attention. Bear is neutered, vaccinated, and on preventative medication.

Ideal Home

Bear would do best in a home with patient adopters who can dedicate time to his ongoing training. He needs a home that understands his need to make introductions on his own terms, as he can be hesitant around young children and new people. While he enjoys playing with his brother, Bear hasn't had extensive experience with other dogs and can react to them on leash.

Ongoing Health

Bear is neutered, vaccinated, and currently on preventative medication.

Training & Support

Bear knows several basic commands and enjoys learning new tricks. He is potty trained and does well with leash walking, though he does react to other dogs. Bear's adopters should be prepared to continue working on his training, particularly with his reactions to other dogs and his initial shyness around new people.
