My name is Betsey, and I'm a sweet, 10-year-old Shiba Inu looking for my forever family. My past is a bit of a mystery, but I've landed in a wonderful rescue and am ready to start my new life. I'm about 28 lbs and love my food and treats! While I can be a bit stubborn about coming inside (especially when there's so much fun to be had outside!), I do enjoy playtime on occasion. I'm not much of a lap dog, but I do love attention and affection from my humans. I'm a runner by nature and am still learning to walk nicely on a leash and harness, so extra precautions are a must to keep me safe. I don't bark much and am generally pretty chill.

Ideal Home

I need a securely fenced yard where I can safely explore. My foster mom also mentioned that someone with Shiba Inu experience would be ideal. I'm not a big fan of small dogs and would likely do best as the only dog in the home. I can tolerate dogs my own size or larger, but I am quite protective of my personal space and my kennel. Please know that I really dislike being kenneled, though I'm happy to sit in it if the door is open!

Ongoing Health

My adoption fee covers all my vetting, including my spay surgery, dental work, heartworm test, vaccinations, dewormer, flea prevention, microchip, and a wellness exam.

Training & Support

I'm still working on my leash and harness manners, so continued practice and patience will be key! I am a runner, so secure containment is very important.
