Zoey is a beautiful American Akita with a heart of gold, but she has a spirit that needs to be understood and respected. She's not a dog who will immediately shower you with affection; earning her trust will take time and patience. Instead of belly rubs, try showing your love through consistent daily routines of feeding, watering, and engaging walks. With these acts of care, you'll slowly but surely win her over and become a treasured part of her life.

Zoey and Zeke were unfortunately victims of backyard breeders and were abandoned at a kill shelter in North Carolina. Despite her past, Zoey has the potential to be an incredibly loving and protective companion for the right person.

Ideal Home

A home with an experienced Akita owner is a must. This girl requires a patient and understanding guardian who can provide the guidance she needs.

Training & Support

Zoey is house-trained. Her adopters will need to be committed to understanding and respecting her need for space and building trust gradually.
