About Groot

Head of the Welcome Committee and Self-Appointed Assistant Manager reporting for duty! Groot is a 45-pound bundle of goober-ness who walks through life as if he's been promoted to a position nobody ever advertised. He's convinced his job is to supervise breakfast prep, escort you to the mailbox, and conduct thorough yard inspections. His performance reviews are outstanding!

This long-legged explorer is equal parts backyard explorer, quality control specialist, and morale officer. His enormous ears are always tuned in, catching sounds from miles away, and he'll often give you a look that says, "Don't worry, I've got this handled." Outside is his favorite office, where he loves to run, sniff, and ensure the local squirrels are following neighborhood regulations. While he takes his duties seriously, he's also quick to abandon them for a spontaneous game of zoomies when another dog gets the energy!

Groot absolutely adores other dogs and would truly blossom in a home with a playful canine companion. Watching him meet another dog is like seeing two best friends reunite – instant excitement and plans for an afternoon of fun! He thrives with a buddy to wrestle, explore, and snuggle with after a long day.

Despite his important "job," Groot has impeccable manners. He is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and already knows commands like sit, lay down, give paw, "go eat," "go outside," and "go for a walk." He's a quick learner who responds well to praise and genuinely wants to please his people. He's also a sweetheart, often bringing you his toys to place gently in your lap, not for a reward, but simply because he thought you should have it. He's sweet without being clingy, playful without being chaotic, and funny without even realizing it. Groot is the kind of dog who quietly changes your everyday life, becoming the reason you smile when you pull into the driveway and the friend you can't imagine living without.

Ideal Home

Groot would love a home with another playful dog to be his best friend. We recommend homes with children 10 years and older to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
