Kai

Meet Kai, a 4-year-old spayed shepherd mix with a heart as big as her zoomies! This sweet girl weighs 47 pounds and is eager to make friends with dogs of all sizes and people of all ages. Kai is the definition of joyful, greeting the world with enthusiasm and always ready to play. She loves to run, chase, and show off her happy zooms, often with a little playful bark of excitement. Kai also enjoys playing with toys and will happily keep herself entertained with them when she's not busy running around with her doggy friends. Her enthusiastic spirit makes her the perfect buddy for an active household, and once she's had her fun, she's more than happy to flop down for pets, belly rubs, and snuggles.

This girl is just as wonderful at home as she is at play. She's house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, though she may pull slightly on the leash when she sees another dog – only because she's excited to say hello and make a new friend. Kai has also done beautifully with children and thrives on the affection and attention she receives from them. She has no issues with stairs and rides like a champ in the car, making her a versatile companion wherever life takes you. Kai can be left out unattended in her foster home, though we always recommend crating any new dog until they've had time to acclimate to a new environment. The only thing that can ruffle her happy-go-lucky nature is loud noises or storms, which can make her a little nervous, but with love and reassurance, she settles well. With her playful spirit, affectionate nature, and eager heart, Kai is ready to be the perfect addition to a loving family. All she needs is a home that can give her the activity she craves and the love she deserves, and she'll return it tenfold with loyalty, laughter, and endless tail wags.

Kai would thrive in an active household that can provide her with plenty of opportunities for running, playing, and zoomies. She loves to make friends and would do well in a home with or without other dogs. She also adores children and is happy to receive affection and attention from them.

Ongoing Health

Kai is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. She is generally healthy and happy.

Training & Support

Kai is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. She may pull slightly on the leash when excited to greet other dogs. While she can be left out unattended, it's recommended to crate her initially in a new environment. She can get nervous during loud noises or storms, but with reassurance, she settles well.

Transporation

Kai is currently being fostered in San Antonio, Texas. Our rescue can arrange transport out of state once she is matched with an approved adopter. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be placed on the next available transport once approved. If you cannot accept a dog until a specific time, please apply at that time.
