Gunner from TEXAS

Gunner is a handsome 3-year-old, 50-pound black and tan hound mix who was rescued from a rural Texas dog pound. He's a good boy who enjoys crate training, comes when called, and is a great passenger in the car. Gunner is also a fan of baths, loves receiving attention and petting, and enjoys playtime with toys and other dogs. He prefers to spend his days snoozing in the cool air conditioning, but he's always up for a quick potty break and some wrestling with his pals before heading back inside.

Ideal Home

Gunner thrives in a home where he can relax indoors and enjoy the AC. As a hound, he can get excited by squirrels and may bark at passersby, other dogs, and cats. He's also a bit of a counter-surfer and loves to explore the garbage if given the chance!

Ongoing Health

Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He is up-to-date on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Gunner is crate-trained and knows basic commands like "come." He would benefit from continued training to address his excitement around squirrels, his vocalizations at passersby and other animals, and his counter-surfing and garbage-raiding tendencies.
