Meet Akira!

Akira is a 5.5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire mix weighing about 60lbs. She was rescued from a euthanasia list with mere minutes to spare and has been patiently waiting for her forever home for nearly nine months without a single adoption application. She has the sweetest puppy eyes and a heart full of love to give, truly thinking she's a tiny lap dog. You'll often find her snoozing on a comfy dog bed until it's time for a walk. She is a good listener, follows commands well, and takes treats gently. To keep herself entertained, she enjoys chewing on bones and playing with her stuffed toys.

Ideal Home

Akira adores people and enjoys the company of calm, submissive pups. She would also be content as the only dog in the home, as her ultimate dream is to be your one and only companion.

Akira is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Akira is fully crate-trained and knows her basic commands. She is gentle when taking treats and enjoys quiet activities like lounging and snuggling.

• Our volunteer-run rescue donates our time to these dogs, so please only apply if you are serious about moving forward in our adoption process.
• Please note that transports run every few weeks, and we will schedule your approved dog on the next available transport. If you are unable to accept a dog until a specific time, please apply at that time.

Transporation

Akira is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX. She can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up.
