Meet Toby, a 6-month-old, 26-pound Carolina Corgi mix with a heart as big as his adorable ears. Toby's journey began with heartbreak; abandoned at a high-kill shelter at just four months old, he was left scared and alone after his mom was adopted. Thankfully, a loving foster stepped in, and with the gentle guidance of his foster sisters, Toby has blossomed. He now happily ventures outdoors on leash, enjoys playtime, and loves to bask in the sun. Toby is shy with new people and needs time to adjust to new environments, but once he feels safe, he becomes an incredibly sweet, loyal, and non-confrontational companion. He lives harmoniously with six dogs and one cat, and it's clear he thrives in the company of other animals, looking to them for reassurance and confidence. Toby loves to lounge near his foster sisters or find a cozy spot under a desk or on a bookshelf.
Ideal Home
Toby would do best in a quieter home without young children, as he expends a lot of energy observing his surroundings. He thrives in the company of other pets, and a happy, confident, playful dog in the home is required to help him continue building confidence and learning that the world is a safe place. A securely and fully fenced yard is a must for adoption.
Ongoing Health
Toby is fully vaccinated with 3 rounds of shots, neutered, and heartworm negative. He is kept on heartworm and flea preventatives.
Training & Support
Toby is currently puppy pad trained and has made excellent progress with indoor potty breaks. While he is still building confidence with outdoor noises and new environments, he closely watches his canine housemates and is eager to follow their lead when they go outside. With a patient family and a confident canine companion, Toby is expected to transition to outdoor potty training quickly.
