Riggs

Riggs is a 9-month-old Anatolian Shepherd with a heart of gold and a shy disposition. He came to us from a difficult hoarding situation, where his former owners did their best, but there simply weren't enough resources for him to fully socialize. Now, Riggs is ready to catch up on life's basics with the right family! He's a sweet, gentle soul who prefers a calm approach and a little time to observe before diving in. He's a natural introvert and thrives in quiet environments.

Ideal Home

Riggs would do best in a home with a confident, friendly resident dog who can be a role model for him. He also needs a securely fenced yard for his safety and to provide a sanctuary from loud noises and commotion. Children over 10 are recommended, as Riggs is not comfortable with the unpredictable energy of younger kids and prefers a calm, respectful environment. He's also not a fan of sudden loud noises, so a quieter home would be ideal, especially around holidays like the Fourth of July!

Ongoing Health

Riggs is generally healthy and has no known ongoing health concerns.

Training & Support

Riggs is still learning about the world and will benefit from a family that understands shy dogs need structure, kindness, and patience to blossom. He is not a fan of loud noises or sudden commotion, so continued socialization to these is important.
