Ranger

Ranger is a 3-4 year old boy full of love and affection, looking for a family to call his own. He was found wandering alone in the cold and was scared at first, but he quickly blossomed with his foster family. Ranger loves to snuggle, give kisses (sometimes a bit too enthusiastically!), and is always up for playtime. He enjoys being close to his humans and sleeping near them, even under the blankets. Ranger also gets along well with other dogs, though he needs gentle introductions due to his spirited nature. He finds comfort in an airline crate, which helps him feel safe.

Ideal Home

Ranger would thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of affection and playtime. He needs a family that is stable on their feet and enjoys regular exercise, as he can be a bit exuberant. Due to his anxiety during storms, a calm environment would be beneficial. He also needs a home where he won't be left alone for extended periods, though he can manage for a standard workday in a properly secured space.

Ongoing Health

Ranger enjoys eating anything, so his new family will need to monitor his intake to ensure he doesn't consume sticks or leaves. He is also working on his "knock-down factor" when he gets excited, which is a behavior that requires ongoing training.

Training & Support

Ranger is still learning to control his excitement when greeting people, and ongoing training will be essential. He can get anxious during storms and may hide. He also experiences anxiety when left alone, leading to destructive chewing in wire crates and shredding bedding. He is a counter surfer and will do best when crated in an airline crate or kept in a dog-proofed room when unsupervised.
