About Minnie
Minnie is a 3-year-old, 10-pound Yorkie mix with the sweetest, most loving personality. Although she didn't have the best start in life, she has quickly learned that being loved is pretty amazing, and she's soaking up every minute of it. Minnie is the ultimate cuddle bug and her favorite place is right next to her people. She adores children and has been wonderful with her foster siblings. She also gets along great with her foster dog siblings and has done well around cats. Because Minnie spent much of her life outdoors, everything about living in a home is still special to her. Soft blankets, comfy beds, belly rubs, and being part of a family are things she never takes for granted. She deserves a forever home that will continue to spoil her and make her feel safe, loved, and cherished. Minnie is very devoted to her family and can be protective of her home. When new people come over, she'll often bark to let everyone know someone has arrived. She warms up to visitors very quickly once she's given the opportunity to realize they're friends, not threats. Slow, supervised introductions are all she needs, and before long she'll be asking for pets and cuddles. Minnie does have some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day. While she could be happy as an only dog if her family is around often, she would likely benefit from having another friendly dog for companionship when her people are away. One thing her future family should know is that Minnie is terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks. During storms or fireworks, she'll need a patient family who can comfort and reassure her until she feels safe again. If you're looking for a loyal little companion who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Minnie is your girl. She's left her difficult past behind and is ready to spend the rest of her life being someone's cherished best friend. Minnie came to us from a rural rescue organization that found her and her friend, Tootie, in less-than-ideal conditions. Their owners surrendered them both.
