We’ve been scouring the classified ads and online job sites searching for the perfect job for our buddy, Thunderlock. His special skills include being INCREDIBLY friendly (he’s never met a stranger), treating every person he meets as his oldest dearest friend, having a treat-detector nose, demonstrating resilience and a joyful disposition in the face of challenges and pain, and being sweet to his very core. While we haven’t found any paid positions which would utilize Thunderlock’s specific skillset, we have found a job that he readily volunteers for - the role of your new best friend! Thunderlock’s staff and volunteer friends are cheering for this great boy to find his furever home - here’s what they’ve said: “I met Thunderlock for the first time today and this handsome boy blew my socks off with his friendly, outgoing personality! He’s got a big cone on and was struggling a bit in his kennel; this didn’t stop him from greeting me and allowing me to leash him up, gentle as can be. As we walked across campus to get to a bigger kennel, he stopped and greeted literally everyone he saw! He went right up to every person with a soft body and offered his head for pets (and found the treats in everyone’s pocket!). He’s so funny! He’s a slow walker with his cast, but he got along fine. Once we got him all settled into his new kennel, I sat down with him and we enjoyed some snuggle time. He is super soft and sweet. I saw him a few times throughout the day and he was relaxing in his kennel or saying hi to the people passing by. He’s a catch!” “Thunderlock came to us with a few broken bones but a very intact and happy spirit. He has been here for two whole months and really needs a foster or adoptive placement for him to be able to get the surgery he needs to fully heal. He needs motivation to go on slow short walks because he is a slug. He is super gentle and sweet and deserves to be in a home.”
