DOUGAL

Dougal is a 75 lb, approximately 2-year-old Sheepadoodle with a heart of gold! He's incredibly easy-going, laid-back, and gets along wonderfully with other rescue dogs. In fact, he's so mellow that his foster parents sometimes forget he's even around! Dougal isn't a fan of the midday heat, preferring to relax inside in the air conditioning. However, as the day cools down, he transforms into a playful pup who loves to romp with his buddies, enjoy a good chew treat, and chase squirrels. He seems to be quite well-behaved with house and leash training, though he does tend to pull on the leash and would benefit from a firm hand.

Ideal Home

Dougal needs a securely fenced yard to safely explore and play. He cannot be placed in a home with children under 8 years old.

Ongoing Health

Dougal tested positive for heartworms and has completed his treatment according to the American Heartworm Society protocols. Follow-up testing in 4-6 months is usually recommended to confirm he is heartworm-negative.

Training & Support

Dougal is generally well-house and leash trained, but he does pull on the leash and will require continued reinforcement with a strong hand.
