Polly Pocket

Polly Pocket is an 14-month-old Great Pyrenees who was once expected to be a livestock guardian dog. However, Polly discovered she much preferred people and adventure to guarding livestock. This led to some unauthorized adventures of her own, and unfortunately, her future was uncertain until rescue stepped in. Since arriving in foster care, Polly has been learning what it means to be part of a family and enjoying the simple things in life like regular meals and a soft place to sleep. She's a loyal sidekick, happy to relax nearby and enjoy your company. While she may be named Polly Pocket, she currently weighs about 81 pounds and is expected to reach 90-100 pounds once she fills out.

Ideal Home

Polly would be happiest in a home with a securely fenced yard where she has plenty of room to stretch her legs and burn off her energy.

Ongoing Health

Polly is still recovering from raising a litter of puppies while not getting the nutrition she needed. Her coat is thinner than expected for a Great Pyrenees, but with proper nutrition, time, and love, she is expected to blossom.

Training & Support

Polly is potty trained and has proven herself trustworthy in her foster home. Her barking is minimal, mostly alert barks. She is still learning to trust and approach people, and is more comfortable when you get down on her level. She is also still getting used to cars and leashes, but settles down nicely once in the car and is starting to enjoy walks. Polly is also just beginning to discover the joy of toys and is still figuring out games like fetch.
