About SCARECROW
Reel: https://facebook.com/share/r/1CguFs2eWv/ honestly thought Scarecrow was a puppy the whole time I was hanging out with him. Something about his puppy eyes and his sweet interactions with me, plus his slight timidity at first and spurts of little boy energy, made me think he was younger than 4 years old. He has beautiful, distinct coloring, including a white tip on his otherwise black tail. He walks well on the leash at time, pulling at others when things get a little exciting. He is a little nervous when we first meet, lifting a paw in appeasement when I ask him to sit. He does know “sit” and “wait” cues and takes treats gently with just his lips. Scarecrow wasn’t jumpy with me when interacted with him and not mouthy. He would do well in many families, but would ideally find a home very soon because the shelter just started renovations to the room in which Scarecrow lives, and if he doesn’t find a new home this weekend, he will be moving into a crate, making his already-small living accommodations even more cramped. If you can foster Scarecrow even short term, it would make a world of difference to him. Read more information on fostering here: https://princegeorgescountymd.gov/departments-offices/environment/animal-services/pet-adoption/foster-information And/or email fosterPGCpets@co.pg.md.us To adopt, please visit Prince George’s County Animal Shelter in person, Tuesday - Friday 11am - 7pm or Saturday 10am - 4pm. If you're looking for a dog who is more party in the pumpkin patch than creepy cornfield, Scarecrow is your guy! This happy-go-lucky pup is all about fun, friends, and snacks. In fact, treats might just be one of his favorite things in the world (right up there with zoomies and making new buddies). Scarecrow showed off his friendly personality by doing well during his food test and meeting another dog, Ace. His biggest concern? Figuring out how quickly they could start playing! He knows sit, takes treats like a pro, and wasted no time taking care of business as soon as he got outside. In the big yard, Scarecrow transformed into a furry tornado of happiness, zooming around with pure joy. He chased toys enthusiastically, although one special toy alligator managed to win his heart. The others were fun, but Mr. Alligator was clearly the VIP of the toy collection. This playful boy even gave the agility equipment a try. While the slippery surface wasn't exactly ideal for his athletic career, he gave it a try! Scarecrow is the kind of dog who brings smiles wherever he goes. Sweet, playful, friendly, and full of life, he's ready to trade shelter life for a home where he can enjoy endless adventures, plenty of treats, and maybe even his very own toy alligator.
