Prince is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees, a magnificent 130 pounds of pure, unfiltered Pyr. He's a classic of his breed, keenly aware of his surroundings and taking his role as neighborhood security very seriously. He'll enthusiastically alert you to the Amazon driver, the squirrel, and the neighbor walking their dog, important work he hopes you'll appreciate!
Prince is wonderful with his people and possesses a silly, fun-loving spirit. He's also respectful of strangers. He enjoys playtime, though like many large working breeds, his bursts of energy are dramatic and brief – expect thirty-second sprints followed by a full-body collapse on the floor, tongue lolling out.
He is selectively deaf, hearing only what aligns with his priorities. Prince isn't an obedience champion, and he's not trying to be. He's independent, thoughtful, and very comfortable making his own decisions. He sheds, he barks when he sees things, and he embodies all the classic Great Pyrenees traits. If you tell him he's been "B A D," he will sulk and take it personally.
Ideal Home
Prince needs adopters who genuinely understand and appreciate the Great Pyrenees breed and all its quirks. He requires a securely fenced yard and is completely untrustworthy off-leash. Teen-aged kids and up would be the best fit for this big guy.
