About Chance

Meet Chance!

Chance is a handsome seven-year-old Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler mix, with a few other breeds sprinkled in for good measure. This large boy weighs about 95 pounds and has a beautiful dark brown and tan coat. Chance is a calm and laidback companion, making every day feel a little more peaceful. He loves to be near his people and is happy resting at your feet, supervising dinner prep, or snoring softly in his crate. He's house-trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and has transferable pet insurance. Chance settles well when left alone and politely lets you know when it's time for a potty break.

Ideal Home

Chance thrives in a family environment and does well with children. He truly loves being near his people and will appreciate a cozy indoor sleeping space.

Ongoing Health

Chance has recently started thyroid medication, and the positive changes have been wonderful to see! He is more energized, playful, and engaged, showing a renewed zest for life. His coat is improving as well, with hair growing back on his tail, a reassuring sign that his treatment is helping him feel his best. He requires regular grooming, including care for his extra dewclaws.

Training & Support

Chance benefits from clear boundaries and structured routines, especially around food. He is ruled by his nose and enjoys relaxed daily walks, including long 'sniffaris'. He knows an impressive list of commands such as sit, stay, down, come, roll over, shake, go lay down, walk fast, and even time for bed. He is not a frequent barker, though he will offer a big alert if someone approaches.
