Miranda

Miranda is an approximately 1 year and 9 month-old Caramelo Dog / Labrador Retriever mix weighing about 46 pounds. She's a sweet and energetic girl with a protective nature, who forms strong bonds with her people and stays aware of her surroundings. Miranda is a bit shy at first and may need some time to warm up in new situations, but she's a social butterfly once she's comfortable. She was found wandering the streets of Houston and was cared for by kind strangers before being rescued. Now, Miranda is safe and searching for a loving, stable family to call her own. She is crate trained, house trained, and walks well on a leash. Miranda gets along great with cats, dogs, children, men, and women.

Ideal Home

Miranda would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard where she can safely explore and play. Families who enjoy outdoor activities and have experience with dog behavior and training would be a great fit. She needs a patient and understanding family that can provide her with the guidance and education she deserves, especially given her protective instincts.

Ongoing Health

Miranda has received a spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed. She also has a heartworm test certificate and a health certificate, along with a vaccine booklet.

Training & Support

Miranda is house and crate trained and walks well on a leash. While she is generally well-behaved, she may bark if she senses something is wrong or if she feels threatened. Her new family should be prepared to offer consistent training and positive reinforcement to help her feel secure and confident. Patience and understanding are key, especially as she adjusts to new environments.

Transportation

Miranda is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas. She is ready to travel to the East Coast and the Pacific Northwest if adopted. A transport fee of $400.00 will be paid by the adopter prior to departure.
