Hi there, I'm Ned! I'm a one-of-a-kind pup with a goofy charm and a super-secret toofy smile that I save for my favorite people. I may have a great grumpy face, but don't let that fool you - I promise I do smile! When I'm relaxed and comfortable, I'm a truly happy dog, full of love and snuggles. Whether I'm wiggling with excitement in the morning or curling up for a cozy nap (preferably on your lap!), I'm always ready to show my affectionate side. My dark brown fur is extra handsome, especially with my cute white socks, and my velvety soft ears? They're just waiting for some good scratches!
I'm a curious explorer who likes to take my time getting to know new things and people. But once I decide you're part of my circle, I'm all in! I'm well-behaved and fully house-trained, and if I could spend all day by my foster mom's side, I'd be one happy pup. Walks are great, but I'm also content to snooze while you work. When it comes to making new friends, I'm a bit particular about people and other dogs because they make me nervous. I will for sure let you know when they are close to the house though. With the help of my foster mom and some anxiety medication from a Behaviorist Veterinarian, I'm learning to stay calm and polite when I see new people or dogs. With patience and the right introduction, I warm up - I just like to take my time! Once I do, you'll have a loyal, snuggly companion who loves giving kisses.
Ideal Home
I would do best in a home that understands I can be nervous around new people and dogs, and is committed to continuing my desensitization training.
Ongoing Health
I have environmental allergies (trees, flowers, dust, cat dander) which are managed by a dermatologist.
Training & Support
I am house-trained and know several commands including sit, kennel, stay, wait, no, and shake. I am working on my outdoor manners, specifically my excitement around squirrels and heeling during walks. It's important that my new family continues with my desensitization training to help me grow in confidence. The wonderful people at Wags will help my new family learn all about my communication signals so we can understand each other well.
