Sugarplum

Meet Sugarplum! This sweet 18-pound girl is a delightful mix of Labrador Retriever and Dachshund. Sugarplum is incredibly loving and thrives on reassurance, kindness, and building trust. She can be timid initially due to her past, needing a patient adopter to allow her time to decompress and feel safe. Once she opens up, her true, charming personality shines through. She adores older children and small dogs, but she becomes fearful around larger dogs, so a home without them would be ideal. While we're unsure about cats, her gentle nature suggests she might do well with a calm feline companion.

Ideal Home

Sugarplum would do best in a home with older children and small dogs. She needs a patient adopter who can give her time to build trust and feel secure. A home without large dogs is a must.

Ongoing Health

Sugarplum is in good health. She tolerates baths well, but nail trims may require a patient groomer experienced with shy or rescue dogs.

Training & Support

Sugarplum is housebroken and crate-trained. She walks well on a leash, though she can pull at times. She is learning to be comfortable with handling and being picked up, and she truly thrives with companionship, benefiting from someone being around often. She loves her fenced yard for safe play and exploration.
