Abby

Meet Abby! Abby is a 6-year-old American Bulldog/Cattle Dog mix with a gorgeous brindle coat and the gentlest of souls. Her past was heartbreaking, having been neglected and abandoned, leading to a terrifying experience at a high-kill shelter. Thankfully, she was rescued and has since been thriving in our care. Abby is a calm, easy-going, and low-key companion who loves strolls and quiet affection. She has a sweet demeanor, is completely house-trained, and is great with cats. While she can startle, she looks to her walker for reassurance and is growing braver every day with kindness and patience. Abby is a gem of a dog, ready to reward her forever family with unwavering loyalty and love.

Ideal Home

Abby would be a great choice for a less active person or family seeking a loving companion. She must be an indoor dog and have a fenced yard to keep her safe. Abby will do best as an only dog.

Ongoing Health

Abby has some skin issues that we are currently treating. She is showing great improvement, and we are hopeful for a full recovery.

Training & Support

Abby is house-trained and walks well on a leash. She can startle sometimes but looks for reassurance. With kindness and patience, she is becoming more confident and affectionate.

Transportation

Abby is currently at Charles Smithgall Humane Society. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship or transport animals.
