Gidget is a 13-year-old, 8-pound bundle of senior sweetness looking for her forever family to shower with love. This little couch potato enjoys her naps but still has plenty of spunk for playtime and anticipating mealtime with a happy dance! Gidget is shy at first but quickly warms up, especially for belly rubs and a good chew on her toys. She would be happiest in a home where she can snuggle up at night and has plenty of comfy bedding during the day.
Ideal Home
Gidget would love a home with a fenced yard where she can feel secure. While she is dog friendly, she appreciates her own space and will let others know if they're overstepping.
Ongoing Health
Gidget is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She recently had a dental cleaning where 8 teeth were removed. She also has some common senior-related arthritis and dry eye, but no major medical issues are known. Mammary tumors were noted during her spay, but the doctor believes they may shrink or remain stable as her estrogen levels decrease.
Training & Support
Gidget is mostly potty trained, but she will need a dedicated adopter to manage potty pads, as she doesn't always signal when she needs to go out and may not always hit her mark. It's recommended to place potty pads over any carpeted areas you wish to protect. She is crate trained but would do best in a home where she isn't crated for more than 8 hours a day. She doesn't tend to get into things unless food is involved, so she might be safe to be left out or in her own room when unsupervised. She travels quietly in a travel crate.
