Masha is a stunning Alaskan Husky, about 5 years old, weighing around 55 lbs. She is a truly majestic dog with captivating sky-blue eyes and a noble presence that makes her unforgettable. Masha has a calm and affectionate personality, eager to please and quick to learn. She's loyal, brave, social, and affectionate, with a playful, fun, and curious nature that makes her even more charming. She's talkative and loves to howl and bark, which is characteristic of her Husky spirit, and she can have a stubborn streak. Masha has been waiting for her forever family for five years and deserves a home where she can finally live the full, beautiful life she has been dreaming of.
Ideal Home
Masha would thrive in a very active family that ideally has other dogs and children. Families with an open conscience regarding the unique behaviors of rescued animals and a background in dog behavior and training would be a great fit. She needs a home with high tolerance and patience, as rescued dogs may undergo an adjustment period.
Ongoing Health
Masha is spayed and up to date on vaccinations (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), deworming, and receives a one-month preventive treatment for ticks, fleas, and heartworm (Nexgard). A health certificate is included.
Training & Support
Masha can be territorial with other dogs, especially dominant ones, though she is not aggressive. She likes to establish herself as "the boss" and may playfully nip or pester other dogs. While she does well in a crate for up to 12 hours, she can pull on the leash due to excitement. She can be a bit protective of her toys and may chew on inappropriate items like wood or plastic when bored and without toys. She is not house-trained, as this is a challenging aspect of rescue rehabilitation. Patience and understanding are a must.
