Dagger is a spirited 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix with an estimated DOB of January 2026. She currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to reach a large size as an adult. Dagger was rescued with her mother and littermates from a rural dumping area outside of Houston, Texas, and has since been thriving in a loving foster home. Her unique dagger-shaped marking on her neck inspired her name, and she's known for her adorable "love nibbles." Dagger is a delightful mix of playful energy and affectionate cuddles. She's confident, curious, and loves to explore, but her favorite place is curled up with her favorite person. She's friendly with strangers, enjoys playing with other dogs, and has been good with children.
Ideal Home
Dagger is looking for an active family who can keep up with her adventurous spirit and provide consistent training and socialization. She is an escape artist, so a secure enclosure is a must! We prefer a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help Dagger learn and grow. If you don't have another dog, please have a plan for continued socialization. Because she is still young, homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are preferred.
Ongoing Health
Dagger is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. She is a healthy puppy who is still growing and developing.
Training & Support
Dagger is potty trained and continuing to learn. She would benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement training, consistency, and continued leash practice. Socialization is key for her continued development into a confident and well-adjusted adult dog.
