About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She has a delightful personality that is equal parts sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining. Coraline's quirky charm will keep you laughing daily, especially with her favorite game of peek-a-boo, which often ends in happy zoomies. She's a people-oriented pup who loves to be near her humans, following them around like a gentle shadow without being overly clingy. Coraline shows affection in subtle ways, like puppy kisses or resting a paw on your leg. She has a calm and balanced temperament, making her a wonderful work-from-home buddy. She's happy to entertain herself with a toy or chew, and is incredibly social with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before continuing her play or exploration. Coraline is the perfect blend of playful and laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – your ultimate sidekick and best friend.
Ideal Home
Coraline thrives in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation. She'd be happy with leisurely walks, short play sessions in a securely fenced yard, or joining you on longer hikes and beach trips. Her ideal family will include her in daily activities and appreciate her calm, affectionate nature. She would benefit from a home with another dog, as she thrives with canine companionship. Due to her size and occasional nervousness in busy areas, a home without apartments or condos is preferred. She needs her human to be home more often than not, but can adjust to a few days of doggy daycare. Public dog parks are not recommended for Coraline.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and has received any necessary vet care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty and kennel trained and is working on leash training. She sleeps well in her kennel but enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster mom. She uses doggy stairs to get onto the bed and will sleep at the foot of the bed or in a dog bed beside yours. She readily enters her kennel with treats. Leash training requires additional practice to build her confidence; she is treat-motivated and walks well with positive reinforcement. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a dog door. A consistent potty schedule of every 3-4 hours is recommended initially in her new home, with the potential for longer intervals once she settles into a routine. A doggy doorbell is suggested if a dog door is not available.
