Meet Parka 🤍

Parka is a sweet, timid beagle mix who has been patiently waiting over two years for her forever home. She's a gentle soul who thrives in a calm environment and has overcome so much. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was fearful of people and other dogs, a behavior that was later understood to be linked to her recent pregnancy and nearing labor. Parka was a devoted and loving mom to her surviving puppy, who has since found a home, but Parka remains. She has completed heartworm treatment and had a tumor removed, and is now fully vetted, healthy, and ready for a new beginning. Parka has gained significant confidence in her foster home and even completed a board and train program to build her skills and confidence. She is a truly good dog who is affectionate and loyal to her foster mom. While she can be a bit shy with new people, especially men, she warms up beautifully with patience and kindness. Men in her forever home will need to be extra patient, as she may always be a bit timid around them.

Ideal Home

Parka needs a calm home where she can feel safe and loved. She thrives with other friendly dogs and a canine companion is a must for her, as they help her gain confidence. Any men in the home must be extra patient with her.

Ongoing Health

Parka has completed heartworm treatment and had a tumor removed. She is fully vetted and healthy.

Training & Support

Parka is crate trained, potty trained, and does great in the home. She has learned amazing leash skills and enjoys going out and about. She has also completed a board and train program for basic commands and confidence building.
