Meet Helix Australian Shepherds. My name is Bridgid Nolan and I'm a life-long Aussie lover. My first Aussie, Owen, came into my life when I graduated from college, and I've been privileged to share my life with this amazing breed ever since! Helix Aussies strives to produce healthy, versatile, beautiful AKC/ASCA Australian Shepherds. I am committed to raising Aussies who are intelligent, healthy, athletic, and sound in structure and temperament, I want to produce Aussies who can perform in any venue, showing they are as solid on in the inside as they are beautiful on the outside. My dogs should be able to compete in AKC/ASCA conformation, agility, obedience, rally, herding, etc. I am a small hobby farm/show breeder located in Central Nebraska. My dogs get to enjoy a wonderful life on 10 acres with goats, pigs, horses and cats. They run, play and live the good life. While I focus on showing to ensure we are adhering to our breed standard, my dogs are first and foremost important, cherished members of my family. They are all house dogs which makes for a busy, fun and loving life for all of us. No kennel buildings or modified garages here! I train and compete in performance events, while mainly focusing on conformation at this point of my life. I travel around the Midwest to dog shows and events, we attend weekly classes and other socialization opportunities. When I am busy with puppies or other life things, a friend and wonderful professional handler will present my dogs in the show ring. I am a member of the American Kennel Club, Australian Shepherd Club of America, United States Australian Shepherd Association, and serve on the board of my local kennel club. All of my dogs are American Kennel Club (AKC) and/or Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) registered. I have been involved in dogs for 20+ years in just about every capacity including rescue, owning a boarding and daycare business in Chicago and participating in various dog sports at high levels. Raising puppies has rounded off my dog experience, and I’m fortunate to be able to apply all I have learned and experienced to raising my puppies. My litters are raised using modified Puppy Culture and Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). These programs give my puppies a great start to life and ensure they will become the best dog and family member they can be. They have been training to use a doggie door into various play areas which is the most vital step to housetraining. Access to outside also allows the puppies freedom and increases confidence. All puppies are placed in approved homes with Limited Registration and a spay/neuter contract. Puppies will have their tails docked, are dewormed regularly and have their first vaccines and health check from a Veterinarian before going home. Puppies are sent home with AKC and ASCA registration paperwork, a tip sheet outlining their schedule and addressing common questions about house training and similar topics, small bag of dog food, and a toy/blanket that smells like their mom/litter mates. I guarantee a lifetime of my support, even after the puppies leave for their new homes. I am happy to provide any information and answer any questions you may have!
