Dex is a handsome 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart full of loyalty and affection. He forms deep bonds with his people and is happiest when he feels like a true part of the family. Dex is playful, intuitive, and has a knack for reading social cues, making him a thoughtful companion. He’s a smart cookie who enjoys a good game of tug-of-war and fetch, and he’s a pro at understanding when another dog isn't in the mood for play.
Ideal Home
Dex would thrive in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks and outdoor adventures. He’s looking for a family that can provide him with structure and include him in their activities. Due to his strong prey drive, he is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. While he has been around children, he can be unsure and may growl when he feels uncertain, so he would do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand canine boundaries.

Training & Support
Dex is a breeze when it comes to house and crate training, readily settling into his crate for a quiet night's sleep. He can also be left to roam the house when his energy needs are met, and he doesn't engage in destructive behaviors. He walks beautifully on a leash, without pulling, and is unfazed by other dogs he passes. His intelligence and eagerness to please make him a joy to train.

- Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
- We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. If you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
