Life doesn't have to be ruff with these pups around! Meet Reenie McRuffy, a 9-week-old Feist / Basenji mix, weighing 7 pounds (as of 6/7/26). The MCRUFFY litter were born in Tennessee by a stray mom. Now that they're a little older, they'll looking forward to finding a family of their own. They hope it's yours!

What's Reenie's favorite thing in the world? Cuddling up with her people! She's a love bug who'll need some extra TLC (tender loving care) to get used to her new home. It helps if her new home happens to be a large castle with a moat for the alligators. Oh, there's no moat? Then any home will do! As long as she has the most loving, amazing people by her side, Reenie will be a very girl.

The McRuffy pups are still a little shy around people, but once they get to know you, their sweet personalities shine through! Mom was only about 25 pounds and Dad was about 30 pounds. These adorable youngsters are expected to be around 30 pounds when fully grown. They are the perfect medium size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between. They have experience with other dogs and while they haven't met cats or kids yet, they hope an introduction is in their future.

Since they're still young pups, they hope their future owners will have love and patience with puppy training: potty, leashing, commands, and crates. They also hope their owners understand that trust takes time to build, but that's the greatest reward of all! For your help, you'll get a complimentary pair of pom poms for being their cheerleader! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
